The Informatics Research Institute at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette partnered with the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Women's Health and Community Health to host a roundtable discussion “Listen to H.E.R.: Hearing, Empowering and Responding: “Healthy Food Access in Acadiana” on September 20, 2023. The event brought community leaders together to find solutions for better access to healthy food with help from moderator Mr. Kenneth Boudreaux. The event began with presentations by Marissa Winters, Director of Community Health of the United Way of Acadiana discussing our current food access landscape in Acadiana, and Henry Chu, PhD, IRI Executive Director and Professor of Computer Science discussing Artificial Intelligence for Social Good: How AI Can Help Improve Healthy Food Access. Thank you to the attendees for bringing your best ideas! We are excited to see your ideas be brought to life in the community.
