Alicia Guidry, PhD
Dr. Alicia Guidry is a HIT Specialist at the Informatics Research Institute at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. On a contract with the Louisiana Department of Health, she works as a Data Analyst in the Business Analytics and Health Economics sections. She uses Medicaid claims data to provide fiscal impact analyses for policy development, inclusion in state and federal reporting, and the Medicaid forecast. Previously, she was the HIT Coordinator for Louisiana Medicaid. While working on her Ph.D., she traveled to Kenya to help identify the types of data used in the treatment and care of HIV/AIDS patients. She developed ontologies and a data integration system for viewing data in clinical trial systems and electronic medical records systems in one user interface.
Dr. Guidry received her undergraduate degree in computer science from Louisiana State University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Health Informatics from the University of Washington.
