Informatics Research Institute

The Informatics Research Institute (IRI) at UL Lafayette oversees five centers that conduct work in the field of informatics to ensure the transformation of information for solving problems that impact our society.

Six Centers, One Mission

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Informatics Research Institute (IRI) utilizes data science and informatics research to positively impact the community in various sectors, including population health, public safety, big data visualization, community resilience, and cybersecurity. The NIMSAT Institute is the first university department to lead a Business Emergency Operations Center in the nation. The Center for Visual and Decision Informatics was a National Science Foundation Industry University Cooperative Research Center for 10 years and continues its work in Big Data.
